K-Jangnyeo takes its name from the Korean term for the first daughter in a family. Through movement, it explores the expectations placed on first daughters — and the rivalry, friendship and solidarity that grow between sisters under that pressure.

As inherited duties come into conflict with individual desires, sisterhood becomes a space for negotiation: how do we care for one another without disappearing into the roles we are expected to fulfil?
